When their Uncle Jesse's farm is at risk of being seized by the banks, mischievous cousins Bo and Luke Duke must turn to running illegal, bootlegged liquor to help Jesse meet ends meet. In Hazzard County, Bo and Luke help their Uncle Jesse and their sexy cousin Daisy run the Moonshine business and always getting into trouble with Sherriff Roscoe P. Attempting to visit the bar, they see Jesse meeting with Boss Hogg. Based on the famously popular television series of the same name, The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning stays relatively true to the scope and feel of the original, and despite its relatively poor critical reception, it's a hootin, hollerin, good-ol-fashioned romp. While the real rationale remains somewhat obscure why these three cousins get together - I mean, why not just brothers and sisters, and where are all of their parents? While financially successful, the film was met with negative reviews from critics.
Hughie, the Boar's Nest bartender, says she is not the type of girl who should work there, and refuses her but she is smitten. Boss Hogg, the mean and corrupt local county commissioner who hates The Dukes evicts The Dukes from their farm. They threaten to drive into Hogg Ravine unless he tells them his plan. He is too scared not to tell, and his confession is broadcast over the thanks to Daisy's manipulation of Enos at the station. Boss Hogg wants the Duke family still, which produces the best moonshine in the county.
Fed up with Hogg, the citizens demand he reverse his dry county policy and free all the people he had arrested for selling moonshine. Mind you, she doesn't actually sleep with anyone in the film - heavy petting apparently is as far as she will go - but is it really empowering for a girl to realize that she can get what she wants dressing like a slut instead of wearing something more demure? Forgive my brief nostalgic detour, but I seem to remember the series' Bo and Luke as at least clever, if not actually smart; here, they're essentially crash-test dummies with hard-ons for almost any of the female flesh in the movie - including Daisy. Bo and Luke quickly tire of farm work and take an interest in some of the local girls of Hazzard. They clean, repair and repaint the car, and after adding their new engine, is reborn. On their way home, they find some girls next to Hogg's Ravine while Cooter and the Duke cousins are standing together at a ledge overlooking a swimming hole.

It's almost as if they got wind of the possibility that this could actually be a good movie halfway through the production - perhaps they misread the script for For Your Consideration and thought it was a real internet blog from the set - and changed directions to include a broader audience testament to which being that the film is currently broadcasting on family cable channels. Their efforts constantly find the 'Duke Boys' eluding authorities in 'The General.
But the Duke boys are getting a reputation in Hazzard County, and the brass is hard on their heels. The Dukes then jump the ravine anyway their first jump , and catch Hughie delivering illegal moonshine into Hazzard.

When they learn that corrupt political kingpin Boss Hogg Burt Reynolds is evicting farmers so he can sell their land to an evil coal mining operation, the boys and their comely cousin Daisy Jessica Simpson decide to fight back. They go to the junkyard to find a suitable car, but do not like what they see. The boys enlist the help of their cousin , who has just turned 18 but is somewhat of a wallflower who wonders why boys do not notice her. Any movie that thinks Scott's rail-thin, fake-boobed figure is hotter than that of former Twin Peaks vixen Sherilyn Fenn has its priorities deeply out of whack.
